Simeon Stafford

BACK

Simeon Stafford is a British Painter, born in 1956 he started painting at age 14. He was encouraged to paint by LS Lowry, a well known British artist who was famous for painting scenes in the industrial districts of North West England. In 1972 he began studying art at Hyde college before becoming a professional artist in 1974. His distinctive style is easily recognised, and he is sometimes called "Cornwall's Lowry”.

Stafford is widely regarded as one of the leading, living British painters. His paintings of Cornwall, their vibrancy and liveliness have inspired thousands to pick up a brush. His work is known to be joyful, and happy and even features members of his family from time to time. Stafford's work is the centrepiece of many private collections, including HM Queen Elizabeth II, Tony Blair and the BBC "Your Paintings" website.
